Just got my Ubuntu machine up and running.

After following the instructions in the readme,

INSTALLATION
- Unzip the contents of the archive in a folder.
- Open a command line terminal and navigate to that folder.
- Run "bash AM2R_Demo_install.sh" (without quotes)
- An icon should be created on your desktop.

The icon appeared on my desktop. When I click on it, the program does not open up. I'm using 14.04.2 LTS Ubuntu. I feel like I must be making a really amateur mistake here.

Go into the (I think it's bin?) folder containing the am2r program, right click it and go into preferences, then you go to the "permissions" tab and make sure the "run file as executable" is checked. Then try to run it again.

If that doesn't work:
Try going into the terminal (should be in either aplications/aceccories or applications/system tools or something like that). THen you right click the am2r launcher and go into preferences, copy the "command" and paste it into the terminal, press enter and see what it says.

Currently running this on: Lubuntu 14.04 LTS with the X.Org Nouveau drivers(the only ones that work on the notebook's GPU

System Specs:
AMD Turion X2 2.00 GHz
4GB System Memory (1GB from that used for video memory)
Nvidia GeForce 8200M G (The reason the Nvidia drivers never wor with this.)

No problems to report running it on Lubuntu. Infact it runs smoothly, at very good frame rates and sounds as good as any other game I play on this machine. One nice thing is that it doesn't even over heat my computer like a lot of other simple graphics games, like say FTL: Faster Than Light. It even runs the machine at cooler temps than Fallout, Fallout 2, and Fallout Tactics. So that's pretty impressive. A very well optimized game.

Don't detect any gamepads (Logitech RumblePad 2 and Sven X-PAD)
Other games and emulators detect normal.

Hey, I'm having an issue where my gamepad will not function and is not recognized by the game whatsoever. I have verified that it does in fact function in other games, so it's not the gamepad. It works in MAME. I'm guessing it's a configuration issue in options.ini. But options.ini is almost a blank file, there's two lines in it. None of which specify anything to do with a joypad.

Ok, the Linux build is now up to date.
You can enjoy demo 1.4, just download it from HERE.

Please share your experience, and if you had any trouble getting it to run.
Thanks, and have fun!

Code:
./runner: error while loading shared libraries: libssl.so.1.0.0: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

On Fedora 64bit. According to

https://unix.stackexchange.com/question ... -file-or-d

it is not a standard library.

Its just a wild guess (I don't have Fedora), but maybe you need 32 bit version of this library? I had something like this on Arch 64 bit.

Apparently you do it like this (you may want to google yourself how to install 32bit packages on Fedora if it does not work):

sudo yum install openssl.i386
or
sudo yum install openssl.i686

Edit:
actually, I got some similar errors after executing new version, but it does not seem to affect anything (game works fine):
Code:
[[email protected] AM2R_Demo]$ ./runner
./runner: /usr/lib32/libcrypto.so.1.0.0: no version information available (required by ./runner)
./runner: /usr/lib32/libssl.so.1.0.0: no version information available (required by ./runner)

I didn't think of that, but I had them already installed.

Code:
# rpm -qa|grep openssl
openssl-libs-1.0.1e-42.fc20.x86_64
openssl-1.0.1e-42.fc20.x86_64
openssl-libs-1.0.1e-42.fc20.i686

Other ideas? =)

The issue with Fedora exist because fedora uses allways the newer openSSL ibraries and packages avaliable, there is recommended by me add support fo them along as the old Ubuntu's openSSL packages; here is the openSSL version what is built for Fedora 22: openssl-1:1.0.1k-8.fc22.i686 and here is the moreup to date openSSLfor fedora 21 openssl-1.0.1k-6.fc21.i686.rpm
