The next Confrontation update is near, and I want to include as many translations of the game text as possible.
It´s pretty simple. All the text is loaded from a text file, named after the language the text is on. You just replace the english text with the text in your language, and it should appear in-game with no problem.

I´ll be pasting the English text here. If you wish to do a translation, please make a new topic in this forum, named "Translation: (language here)". Then, paste the translated text, following the lines of the original file. This way people can participate actively, reviewing the translation for a better final text.
If the topic for your language is already made, share your thoughts with the post author, don´t make another topic.
Be sure to respect the lines, do not add or remove any. And try to keep the character count similar to the original text.
You may use special characters if needed (ANSI characters only).

EDIT: Looks like I forgot to paste some text. Look at the bottom of the text, from the line "//Mod Options (Option, hint)" , right after the old text. If you´re translating, just paste those few lines at the end of your translation, and proceed to translate them.
Sorry for the inconveniences!!!

Keep in mind that you´re actually helping to translate AM2R, since most of this text is used there too.
At the release of Confrontation 2.5, I´ll copy the latest revision of each translation post and include it into the release.
Thanks!

I promised I'd make an Italian translation for you via e-mail, and now here you go!

EDIT: Moved to it´s own corresponding topic in this forum. Please make a topic for each language, don´t paste the text here. DoctorM64

I was wondering which languages will be supported since Game Maker only allows characters from CP-1252, or did you manage to use full Unicode?

Any language that can be written and understood with normal "ANSI" characters.
(I wrote it in quotes after reading your wiki link)

What about supporting different fonts for different languages (of course, the look of the font would be the same, it would just replace unnecessary characters with the required ones)?

You mean different characters? there are around 10K alt codes that give you an extra character that isn't on a standard keyboard, so there is no need for a different font.
For example: lowercase vowels with acute accents:
Alt + 160 = á
Alt + 130 = é
Alt + 161 = í
Alt + 162 = ó
Alt + 163 = ú

These actually differ by font. You can't use more than 256 per usual non-unicode font. That includes these "ANSI" characters as well.

Energy Tank
Armor increased by 100 units

I have a problem with energy tank... that is: energy tanks increase energy (for energy shield) not armor, am I right?

Samus's suit doesn't have an external energy shield; the shield is directly integrated into the armor and life-support systems. If she were to have an external energy shield, then it would (literally) shimmer on contact with any projectile - much like Halo - and objects wouldn't be able to pass through it and impact on her armor (like it does) if she had an external energy shield. Simply put: the suit is too advanced to have a common external energy shield. The energy tank increases the energy output to the armor's integrated shield. And since there is nothing to compare it to because humanity doesn't have the technology currently to build an energy shield generator, this will just have to do based on the facts in each Metroid game with enough effects to come to a conclusion.

But I digress, instead of debating the energy shield mechanics in Metroid, I'll now discuss the Alt Keycodes. I've been able to use around 1,024 Alt Keycodes using Times New Roman font type on Microsoft Word. Your statement is true because it does depend on the font type, but common symbols used in most languages will be supported by AM2R or else DoctorM64 wouldn't be asking for translations; I'm not sure about Japanese or Mandarin Chinese though.
