Hello,

Thanks for this marvelous project. Still living.

I'm just a little bit upset that AM2R 1.1 Linux version does not work anymore (maybe since Debian upgrade on my machine)

The game does not launch anymore.

Via the terminal, I get an error message:

"./am2r: error while loading shared libraries: libssl.so.1.0.0: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory"

Can we hope a fix for that ?

Many thanks.

You have a few options:
  • Make a symlink to your libssl version (and hope everything works), or install the specific libssl version. You have to make sure that only AM2R uses it, because this can make your system insecure / break applications. You can use "ldd ./am2r" to find out which libraries AM2R wants to use. If you set up libssl.so.1.0.0 correctly, ldd should show the path to this libssl library.
  • Install wine and use the Windows version. It was reported that this setup works just fine.
  • Get the reconstructed source code from yellowafterlife, get GameMaker Studio and build your own Linux executable.
  • Wait, until someone else publishes a fix.
  • Wait even longer, until someone publishes a port to Java or the GameCube, because then you don't need the Windows only GameMaker thing anymore.

Thanks for your advices.

Using Wine with the WIndows seems to be the best and easier choice for the moment.

Dearly.
