... and not a single game has outdone it for me, and not for a couple other old school titles either. So I was thinking hey, if Yuki cosplay has great taste in games that aren't Metroid, won't you guys as well? Throw me some suggestions please! (Other than Mass Effect which I will be getting)

In honor of the upcoming 10th anniversary (I know, it makes me feel old too) I will shamelessly plug my personal list of top 10 games of all time!
*In bold are ratings out of 10 for the game, not the franchise.

1. Metroid Prime Trilogy and franchise
2. Pokemon Sun and franchise
3. Super Mario 64 and franchise
4. Jurassic Park: Operation Genesis and franchise
5. Star Wars Rogue Squadron and Lucas Arts franchise
6. Dragon Age: Origins and Dragon Age II
7. Donkey Kong Country and series
8. Primal Carnage
9. Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword and franchise
10. EVE: DUST 514

I recently played a game called Nier Automata.

I cannot recommend it enough. No words can describe the amazing qualities of that title. There was a game before it that came out years ago, simply called Nier, but you don't need to play it before jumping into Automata. If you're good at exploration and collecting items like you would in a Metroid game, you'll end up finding the complete summary of the previous game inside Automata.
